On August 7th and 8th, 2024, a group of dedicated professionals from Blackhawk Engineering, including Toby P, Shain R, Wade J, and Jared S, attended the Introduction to Robots and FANUC Robot Basic Operations course at Hawkeye Community College. This comprehensive introductory course is designed to equip operators with essential skills for interacting with FANUC robots, using the teach pendant as the primary interface.
Geared towards individuals who operate or may be required to perform maintenance on System R-J or newer controllers and FANUC robots equipped with a standard application software package, the course provided invaluable hands-on experience and foundational knowledge.
Participants delved into the fundamental operations of FANUC robots, gaining expertise in several key areas:
Navigating teach pendant menus
Powering up and jogging the robot
Understanding user and tool frames and their impact on programs
Performing step testing and continuous testing of production programs
Executing production operations
Modifying motion statements and positional data
Diagnosing faults
Recovering from crashes
Backing up and restoring individual programs and files
The training emphasized practical skills that are crucial for maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in robotic operations. By mastering these competencies, Blackhawk Engineering staff are now better equipped to handle any issues that may arise, ensuring the continued excellence of their products.
